The 3D.Ridge technology and Center Sidewall significantly reduce weight across the length of the ski, while keeping the power underfoot, where a thin layer of steel adds strength. Each turn is easily initiated, without sacrificing grip, thanks to the extended tip and tail rocker. Power transfer is prioritized by the iPT Wideride binding system; plus the GripWalk compatibility brings a new level of ski boot comfort.
With all the thoughts put into it and a slightly wider waist, the Flair 79 opens up more terrain, in more conditions, than any other ski in the Flair lineup.
3D.Ridge Technology: Central Wood core Ridge with super slim wings to significantly reduce weight and swing weight and keep the stability where necessary. Our 3D.Ridge technology is probably the most extreme and effective construction technique that currently exists. The distinctive characteristic of this technology is a raised central ridge that sharply levels out towards the edges of the front and behind the binding.
Duel Wood Core: PU construction with large wooden core in the ski body.
Center Sidewall: Direct and strong power transmission with partial sidewalls in the center of the ski, combined with the super slim 3D.Ridge construction.
XTD Tip & Tail Rocker: The ski has a variable edge length in the shovel and tail areas. The variable edge set between the shovel and tail makes the ski turn-happy. That in turn allows for a stiffer flex setup.
Powered By Steel: Many high performance Völkl models feature a layer of spring steel below the ski's core. This metal layer absorbs vibration, providing addition stability for a fabulous blend of smooth-riding, yet lively performance.
P-Tex 2100 Base: A sintered high-density and high molecular polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability.
WR XL 11 GW Bindings: Marker and Völkl developed the iPT Wideride system with a contact surface width 30% greater than standard. On top of that, the binding is mounted significantly closer to the edge of the ski. This helps the energy flow more directly and continuously to the edges. They make wider skis more agile, responsive and easier to control.
